Jews, converts and christmas
Subject: Holiday advice
Shalom Rabbi Ginsberg,
I need some advice to get through this pesky Christian holiday. I am from a small family...only two sisters and their offspring - both my parents are now deceased. My sister (who lives an hour away ) invites me on X-mas day to have dinner at her house. It is very secular in nature but still it is celebrating Christmas, which I don't do any more. I want to go just to spend time with them but feel conflicted. Would it be better for me to go the day before or the day after? My family knows that I am converting so will understand if I don't go....
